Kicking off the day with a nutritious breakfast is shown to improve students' learning and keep them focused until lunchtime.
Breakfast in the Classroom (BIC) is a true Springfield success story!
A three-year, district-wide implementation plan was developed and executed in 2015.
Did you know that to date, student meal participation at breakfast time is soaring at over 80%? Today, every student in Springfield Public Schools can enjoy Breakfast in the Classroom. This district-driven initiative has significantly reduced student hunger visits to the nurse and has improved time on learning.
This school year, we are excited to introduce a brand-new Breakfast in the Classroom ordering system in select elementary schools. Look forward to your school's BIC ordering system -- coming soon!
